Last night I participated in the NOOKANOOKA GALLERY EVENT. I was asked to customize a NOOKANOOKA. I only had 4 days to get it done (I started Saturday and the show was on Monday.) It felt like art school all over again. I had some big aspirations to create something that would have taken days to execute so it was hard to tame the creativity down but still do something that represented me as a designer. 

After sketching a million ideas, I decided to create a trophy. But not any trophy, A sarcastic and witty trophy. I wanted to do something that was kind of a back handed compliment. I've always loved the quote, "2nd place is the first loser." - Dale Earnhardt so I used that as my inspiration.

The title of the piece was called: "YOU WIN SOME, YOU LOSE SOME"

With our culture putting so much emphasis on winning, What we are really saying is that participating isn't worth it unless you win. But sometimes it's not about winning and losing. It's ok just to have played.
